Rebecca Park Cooper, 87, of Crystal City died Jan. 13, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Cooper was retired from the Missouri Division of Employment Security and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City. She was a dedicated blood donor, having gifted more than nine gallons over her lifetime. She loved cooking and baking, and was known for her loving hugs. Born June 14, 1932, in Stamford, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Marie (Lee) and Paris Doyle Park Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years: Narvel “Gene” Cooper; two sons: Michael (Yvonne) Cooper of Crystal City and Bruce (Zoe Ann) Cooper of Festus; a daughter: Dana (Mark) Templeton of Festus; a “special child of her heart” Bobbi (Larry) Crawford of Fenton; six grandchildren: Toni (Perry) Walsh, Sonya Cooper, Jessica (Adam) Feltes, Amanda Templeton Jackson, Kayla Elizabeth Crawford and Colleen Janae Crawford; six great-grandchildren: McKenna Templeton, Chloe Skaggs, Tristan Jackson, Atticus Feltes, Lyla Cooper and Kyrian Jackson; her special caregiver: Christy Pennington of Pevely; three sisters; and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Carla Ann Cooper; three grandchildren: Travis Michael Cooper, Brandon Rutledge Templeton and Kasey Ann Boyer; three sisters; and four brothers.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Chaplain Cody Alley. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Gateway Chapter or Mercy Jefferson Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
