Raymond M. Depew, 78, of Festus died July 11, 2018, in Festus. Mr. Depew was a welder for the Alpha Tank Co. and a member of First Baptist Church of De Soto. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve, and a member of American Legion Post 253. Born April 23, 1940, in Horine, he was the son of the late Alma (Hasty) and Floyd Depew. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Sandra Lynn (Maness) Depew.
He is survived by his wife: Sandra Louise (McCabe) Depew; three children: Tammy (Michael Sr.) Cords of Crystal City, Kelly (Randy) Rulo of De Soto and Kimberly Depew of Chillicothe; three stepchildren: James McCabe, Tabatha (Menard) King and Jamie McCabe; four siblings: Eileen “Nini” Depew of Bonne Terre, JoAnn Beckmeyer of Cuba, Mo., Robert Depew of Pevely and Frankie Depew of Festus; six grandchildren: Beth, DeAnna, Michael Jr., Randy, Jessica, Daniel; 14 great-grandchildren: Rileigh, Jason, Gracelynn, Sebastian, Sylas, Trevor, Braylon, Stevie, Avaline, Shailee, Tayla, Isabelle, Jacob and Annalese; and five step-grandchildren: Grace, Michael, Noah, Josh and James.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Theresa Harris, Ruthie Depew and Barbara Depew; and four brothers: Floyd Depew Jr., Chester “Midgey” Depew, Howard “Bubby” Depew and Douglas Depew.
A funeral service was held July 17 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Jeremy Muniz. Burial was in the Sandy Baptist Cemetery in Hillsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
