Politte, Raymond

Raymond H. Politte, 74, of Festus died Jan. 23, 2022, in Festus. Mr. Politte was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Festus Post Office. He was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus and of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed travel, playing golf, maintaining his perfectly manicured lawn and listening to classic country music (but only at a reasonable volume.) From his early days working at his parents’ Festus drive-in, Biggie Burger, he exemplified work ethic, and was famous for his laugh and his kindheartedness. He was born in St. Louis and was the son of the late Victor and Irene Politte. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years: Kathleen (Ehret) Politte.

He is survived by two daughters: Angeline (Marcus) Stucke and Jocelyn (Sean) Canan; and six grandchildren: Isaac, Rowan, Quinn and Nadia Stucke and Scarlet and Jude Canan.

Burial with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. A celebration of life for both Mr. Politte and his wife will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Wild Sun Winery, 4830 Pioneer Road, in Hillsboro. Ray often paid it forward and helped those in need; his family can think of no better tribute to him than continuing to help others in a ripple effect with no end. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
