Raymond David Stroups, 72, of Barnhart died Nov. 8, 2016, at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Arnold. Mr. Stroups was a retired machine repairman for McDonnell Douglas and a member of the Twin Rivers Worship Center. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965. Born April 25, 1944, in Richwoods, he was the son of the late Harry and Marcella (Rulo) Strupe.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary (Thebeau) Stroups.

He is survived by a son: Jason (Kim) Stroups of Imperial; two daughters: Laura (David) Sain of Marion, Ill., and Sarah (Bob) Burgard of High Ridge; a “daughter of the heart:” Tammy (Craig) Slate of Ste. Genevieve; nine grandchildren: Mandie (Keifer) Thomas, Patrick Schodroski, Jennifer and Josh Stroups, Chloe and Logan Burgard, and Josh, Travis (Sarah) and Andrew Slate; two great-granddaughters: Scarlett and Loralei Slate; a brother: Kenny Stroupe; three sisters: Linda Heffin, Debbie Christopher and Marlene (Jo) Storey; and a sister-in-law: Linda Stroupe.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Joe, Jim, Fred and Mike Stroupe; and a great-grandchild: Keigan Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County, officiated by David Sain. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
