Raymond Allan "Bernie" Burns, 65, of Hillsboro died April 10, 2015, at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton. Mr. Burns had worked as a carman with the Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed golf ball hunting and hosting barbecues for family and friends. Born Dec. 2, 1949, in St Louis, he was the son of the late Mack and Rose (Sheidle) Burns.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Kathy (Giger) Burns; a son: Brian Burns of Hillsboro; two daughters: Tember Burns of Pevely and Kim (Steve Lade) Schwalbert of Imperial; two brothers: David (Debbie) Burns of Imperial and Bobby Burns of Colorado; two sisters: Nancy (Jerry) Maxwell of Hillsboro and Denise (Darren) Green of De Soto; and 10 grandchildren: Justin, Brian, Casey, Kasja, Samantha, Zachary, Joseph, Joshua, Chloe and Savannah.
Visitation is scheduled at 5 p.m. and a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus, officiated by Senior Pastor Tony Brown. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
