Randall “Randy” Paul Bannister, 66, of Festus died March 6, 2017, at his home. Mr. Bannister was a millwright and a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Amvets Post 42 in Herculaneum and enjoyed karaoke, woodworking and spending time with his family. Born Dec. 20, 1950, in De Soto, he was the son of Ilene (Huskey) Bannister of Pevely and the late Paul Bannister.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years: JoAnn (Gregory) Bannister of Festus; two sons: Paul (Angela) Bannister Jr. of Panama City, Fla., and Shaun (Dawn) Bannister of Farmington; five daughters: Laura Stevenson of St. Louis, Suzanne Bannister of Arnold, Tracy (Alan) Kuhlmeyer of Festus, Amanda Lawson of Farmington and Shannon (Jeff Colona) Crowley of St. Louis; one brother: Ronald (the late Charlotte) Danback of St. Louis; four sisters: Judy (the late Marty) Oker of De Soto, Debbie (Jim) Eddy of Cedar Hill, Sherrie Jennings of Pevely and Leslie (Gary) O’Neal of Herculaneum; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 9 at Mahn Twin City Chapel, officiated by Brother Charles Jennings. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105-1942. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
