Phyllis “Sis” Justine, 62, of Hematite died July 24, 2021, at Festus Manor in Festus. Mrs. Justine was a nursing assistant at Scenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Herculaneum and Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Festus. She was a member of the Heart of the Apostles Church and enjoyed spending time with her dogs and playing bingo. Born Aug. 12, 1958, in Fort Knox, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Ruth Ann (Adams) and Philip Bates Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Justine.
She is survived by a brother: Philip Bates Jr. of Herculaneum; a nephew: Cory (Marissa) Bates of St. Louis; a niece: Jessica (Nathan) Warren of Hillsboro; and a great-nephew: Henry Warren.
Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in Herculaneum. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
