Phillip Dewey Cathcart, 75, of Herculaneum died Sept. 4, 2017, at Fountainbleau Nursing Home in Festus. Mr. Cathcart was a pipefitter with Ameren and a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed woodcarving, fishing and hunting. Born Feb. 8, 1942, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Alvin Cathcart. He was preceded in death by his wife: Judy Ann (Sellers) Cathcart.
He is survived by three sons: Phillip (Robin) Cathcart of Pevely, Mark (May) Cathcart of Festus and Daniel (Samantha) Cathcart of Festus; a brother: Peter Cathcart of Cortland, Ohio; a sister: Jeannie (Barry) Chambers of Columbia; eight grandchildren: Corey Cathcart, Hannah (Matt) Edgar, Justin Cathcart, Andrew Cathcart, Shayne Cathcart, Morgan Cathcart, Michael Cathcart and Jesse Cathcart; and three great-grandchildren: Trace Edgar, Mason Edgar and Gunner Edgar.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Wendy Eve Cathcart; a sister: Pat Ehrenrieh; a brother: Mike Cathcart; his stepfather, Milton Reinhardt; and a sister-in-law: Mary Cathcart.
Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
