Peggy J. O’Brien, 81, of Imperial died April 23, 2022, at Mercy Heart Hospital in St. Louis. Ms. O’Brien graduated from Saint Alphonsus Rock High School and had a long career working for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a devout Catholic, attended church services daily and was a strong advocate for the unborn. A generous person who donated to and supported many needy organizations, she will be remembered for her laugh, smile and loving heart. Born Nov. 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Reginald Joseph and Eva (Miller) O’Brien.
She is survived by: Delores Ann (Ken) Woods, Michael Joseph (Mary) O’Brien, David Reginald (Mary) O’Brien, Sharon C. (Paul) Rhodes, Regina Elaine (William) Durst, Stephen Patrick (Jean survives; the late Cheryl) O’Brien, Linda Christine (Joseph) O’Brien, Patricia Marie (John) Shannon, Kathleen Annette McCulloch, Elizabeth Susan (Glenn) Cheng, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Kay O’Brien.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 2, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2300 Church Road, in Arnold. Memorials may be made to Feed My People or to pro-life causes through Catholic Church Services.
