Paul Monroe Tanner, 74, Union

Paul Monroe Tanner, 74, of Union died March 30, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Tanner enjoyed spending time with his canine companion, Daisy. He also liked fishing, hunting, and fixing up and restoring old Chevrolet trucks. He was a member of Radiant Life Church in Festus. Born Sept. 21, 1946, in St, Louis, he was the son of the late Paul Edward and Mildred (McCain) Tanner.

He is survived by his wife: Virginia Dail (Cook) Tanner; a son: Tim (Brenda) Tanner of Illinois; two stepsons: Jeremy Pursifull of Union and Gary Pursifull of Gray Summit; a daughter: Cassandra (Irfan) Shaikh of St. Charles; two step-daughters: Kelly (Mario) Botkin of Salem and Michelle (Geoff) Van Matre of De Soto; and 15 grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a son: Christopher Tanner; and a brother: Dewy Tanner.

A memorial service will be held later. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
