Paul Eugene Ogle, 79, of Festus died Aug. 16, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Ogle was retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Kirkwood and was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and Knights of Columbus Council 1230. He was a member of the Rivertown Sound Barbershop Quartet and was a 61-year member and past president of the Barbershop Harmony society, remembered for his deep, rich bass voice. Born July 31, 1942, in Festus, he was the son of the late Cecelia Mae (Boyer) and Albert T. Ogle.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Carol (Pappas) Ogle; a son: Kevin Ogle of Festus; a daughter: Sondra (Martin) Deters of Oakville; a brother: Stephen “Tim” (Karen) Ogle of Festus; a sister-in-law: Joan Ogle of Nebraska; five grandchildren: Alexandria, Sebastian, Sabrina and Gabriel Ogle and Marissa Deters; and numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Jeffery Ogle.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
