Paul Edward Boyer, 73, of Fenton died Sept. 24, 2020, at his home. Mr. Boyer was retired from Walmart, where he had worked in management for many years, and was a longtime, faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Fenton. He was a proud Vietnam War-era veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed music, making rosaries and spending time with his family. He was born Dec. 25, 1946, in Recola, the son of the late Claude Benedict and Agatha Velma (Thebeau) Boyer.

He is survived by his wife of more than 53 years: JoAnn Marie (Coleman) Boyer of Fenton; a daughter: Christina (Ronald) Grau of Fenton; a brother: James (Lanie) Boyer of Potosi; two sisters: Cyrilla Boyer of Old Mines and Mary Pat (Michael) Pratt of Viburnum; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two daughters: Angela Dawn Boyer and Daniele Renee Boyer; a brother: Joseph “Butch” Boyer; and a sister: Veronica Juliette.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900  Main St., in De Soto. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct., 1, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 15 Forest Knoll Drive, in Fenton, officiated by Monsignor Kevin Callahan. Burial with full military honors will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Masks are required at both locations. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or in the form of Masses in Mr. Boyer’s honor. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
