Paul Priest

Paul E. Priest, 84, of Crystal City, died Oct. 25, 2015, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center near Festus. Mr. Priest was a welder at St. Louis Shipyards. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to bluegrass music and was an avid Cardinal baseball fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City.

Born Jan. 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Carle E. and Edith E. (Jones) Priest.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Jane (Mira) Priest.

He is survived by six daughters: Ellen Priest of Crystal City, Bonnie Hardin of Crystal City, Judy Elliott of Grubville, Gail Ratty of Festus, Debra Burns of Indiana and Mercedes Priest of Crystal City; one brother: William Bingham of Crystal City; one niece: Rita Peters of Arnold; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sons: Frank DeRousse, Dickie DeRousse, Terry DeRousse and Benny DeRousse; four brothers: Eugene Priest, Orville Priest, Alan Priest and Norville Priest; and one sister: Allene DeRousse.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday Oct. 30, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Freeman Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Crystal City.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
