Paul Daniel “Danny” Gibbar, 69, of De Soto died June 14, 2017, at his home. Mr. Gibbar was a retired electrician and a member of IBEW Union Local 1. He was a black powder shooting enthusiast and a mountain man re-enactor, as well as an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and camping. Born Feb. 9, 1948, he was the youngest of 14 children of the late LeRoy and Mildred (Barnes) Gibbar.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Joyce (Port) Gibbar; two children: Patricia (Jim) Aumann of Arnold and Paul (Athena) Gibbar II of St. Louis; six grandchildren: Sean Yoakum of St. Louis, William Aumann of St. Louis, Savana Nix of Chicago, Alexis Nix of St. Louis, Alyssa Aumann of Arnold and Logan Gibbar of St. Louis; and many siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is at 9 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for noon Saturday, June 24, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County, officiated by Father Rath. Memorials may be made to the Backstoppers. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
