Patricia Lee Jones-Evering, 84, of Arnold died Jan. 2, 2021, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Mrs. Jones-Evering worked as a pharmacy assistant for Kmart and a cashier for Schnucks. She also was a pastor’s wife for many years, and was active after her husband’s death, playing piano at many churches throughout St. Louis. She was a spirit-filled, praying woman of God with a great sense of humor and was generous, in spite of her meager resources. Born June 28, 1936, in Grand Tower, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Gracel (Trammel) and Roy Lee Pillow. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James T. Jones.
She is survived by nine children: Sandy Siegel, Carolyn Alvarez, Dorinda (Stephen) Marino, Rick (Ruth Ann) Malone, James Thomas (Sherry) Jones, Jonathan Jones, Mark (Cherie) Jones, Philip Jones and Michael (Stacey) Evering II; eight siblings: Jane Marchesi, Sarah (Mitch) Hathaway, Paul (Linda) Pillow, Steve (Cindy) Pillow, James (Leeanne) Pillow, Patrick Pillow, Tim Pillow and Joe (Tina) Pillow; 21 grandchildren: Christopher Malone, Amber Levora, Christine Rothrock Johnston, Melissa Steffan, Alison Korns, Winston Alvarez, Tommy Jones, Connor Jones, Carson Jones, Kaitlin Jones, Blake Jones, Ross Taylor, Nathaniel Jones, Preston Jones, Benjamin Evering, Micah Evering, Grace Evering, Paul Evering, Faith Evering, Hope Evering and Jonah Evering; and eight great-grandchildren: Ethan Levora, Brendan Levora, Fenris Alvarez, Salem Alvarez, Brennan Necker, Brock Steffan, Kobe King and Landon Brown.
She was preceded in death by four siblings: Delores Skipper, Deborah Pillow, Mark Pillow and Ronald Pillow.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Road, in Affton. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Twin Rivers Church, 10575 Tesson Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County, officiated by the Rev. Randy Morrison. Burial is in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood. Memorials may be made to Every Child’s Hope in St. Charles. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
