Patricia J. “Pat” (Evans) Henderson, 86, of Arnold, formerly of Hillsboro, died May 24, 2018, in Arnold. Mrs. Henderson was a longtime teacher at Good Shepherd Catholic School in Hillsboro, retiring after 31 years of dedicated service. She also was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where she served as a lector and was an OASIS volunteer. She was a member and past state president of the Business and Professional Women’s Association and a member of the Modern Seekers in Hillsboro. She was born June 11, 1931, in Seattle, Wash., the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Kimball) and Lawrence Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband,
William “Bill” Ambrose Henderson Sr., whom she married Sept. 8, 1951, in Brentwood.
She is survived by two daughters: Susangela “Susie” (Joe) Thurman of Arnold and Elizabeth “Betsy” Henderson of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a son: William “Squeak” Ambrose Henderson Jr. of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren: Tricia Douglas, Jeff Thurman, Laura (Aaron) Mc Antire, Maggie (Mike) Firestine and Jeremiah Henderson; and three great-grandchildren: Henry, Inez and Jamieson Firestine.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at the funeral home. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to Good Shepherd School in Hillsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
