Oneida A. Boyer, 85, of Blackwell died Feb. 12, 2018, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County. Mrs. Boyer was a bartender at the South End Tavern in De Soto and at Amvets Post 48, where she was a booster. She also cleaned houses and worked at Head Start. Born July 22, 1932, in Baryties, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Annastatia (Bequette) Boyer. She was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Boyer.
She is survived by two daughters: Micky Coleman of Potosi and Melanie (Larry) Robinson of Barnhart; three sons: Greg (Rosemary) Boyer of Cannon Mines, Duane (Clara) Boyer of Joplin and Darrell (Terry) Boyer of Park Hills; a brother: John Boyer of Festus; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Floyd, Eli, Lawrence, James and Bernard Boyer; four sisters: Virgil “Tootie” Boyer, Ethel Redecker, Loretta Kreitler and Virginia Hirsch; and one grandson: Christopher Boyer.
Visitation is at 11 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Deacon Ed Boyer. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
