Oliver R. “Ollie” Pechman III, 71, of Catawissa died Nov. 17, 2018. Mr. Pechman served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a firefighter with the Fenton Fire District for 25 years and volunteered for Cedar Hill Fire District. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time in the outdoors and raising beagles. He also was a Civil War re-enactor, an avid reader and a historian. Born April 2, 1947, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Oliver and Shirley (Eccardt) Pechman Jr.
He is survived by one child: Robert (LeAnn) Pechman of Robertsville; five grandchildren: Zachary, Chase, Colin, Alyssa and Ashley; a companion: Diana Potter of Catawissa; and many other relatives and friends.
He also was preceded in death by two children: Phillip and Oliver Michael Pechman.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home, followed by the burial at 12:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
