Verta Mae Denny, 86, formerly of De Soto died Sept. 6, 2023, at Marymount Manor in Eureka. Mrs. Denny was a homemaker. Born Sept. 5, 1937, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Della (Graham) and Reed Tenney. She was preceded in death by her husband: Oscar P. Denny.
She is survived by a daughter: Candace (Tom) Henningsen of Byrnes Mill; and two grandchildren: Emily and Jacob Henningsen. She was preceded in death by a brother: Nelson Reed Tenney.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
