Roger “Eric” Hurst, 49, of Festus died July 28, 2023, in Jefferson County. Mr. Hurst worked as a deli manager for Dierberg’s Market in south St. Louis County. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and watching football. Born Nov. 20, 1973, in Crystal City, he was the son of Debi (Ford) and Roger Hurst of Festus.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Brandy (Smetzer) Hurst of Festus; a daughter: Ashleigh (James) Hurst of Festus; a brother: Ryan (Nichole) Hurst of Festus; two grandchildren: Mayson Barnett and Elijah Phillip Draper, both of Festus; a niece: Rian-Skai Hurst of Festus; and three nephews: Xander, Colton and Rexx Hurst, all of Festus.
A celebration of life is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. The celebration will continue from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Knights of Columbus Council 1230, 316 N Adams St., in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
