Richard Larry George, 81, of Barnhart died May 15, 2023. Mr. George was a pharmacist. He enjoyed woodworking and was a solar energy enthusiast. Born Aug. 1, 1941, in Poplar Bluff, he was the son of the late Helen (Wisecarver) and Lloyd George.
He is survived by his wife: Florine (Curtis) George; four children: Luther Vails George of Eldon, Sean Richard (Roxanne) George of Holts Summit, Patrick (Jan) Jeffries of Arnold and Mark (Stephanie) Jeffries of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two siblings: Robert (Mary) George of Cleveland, Tenn., and Nancy (Donnie) Shiller of Kirkwood; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild: Jordan Elizabeth Jeffries.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until a funeral service at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
