Mildred Bernice Dixon, 97, of Festus died May 23, 2023, at Crystal Oaks in Festus. Ms. Dixon formerly worked as a salesperson with Famous-Barr department store. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City and loved spending time with her family. Born Aug. 11, 1925, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Rose (Heine) and Stephen Dennis Gordon Sr.
She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn (Rick) Griffin of Hillsboro and Helen (Casey) Donahue of De Soto; two brothers: Stephen (Carol) Gordon Jr. of Pevely and Edward (Margie) Gordon Sr. of Barnhart; a sister: Emmaline Dotson of Festus; five grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son: James Edward Dixon Jr.; a daughter: Jeanette Dixon; and a sister: Patricia Burns.
Visitation is scheduled from 8-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City, officiated by Father Mathew Cheruparambil. Burial is in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Kimmswick. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
