Mary Louise Freeman, 77, of Herculaneum died June 8, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Freeman was a devout Catholic and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of the former Assumption Catholic Church in Herculaneum and a graduate of St. Pius X High School. She enjoyed painting, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family, and was known for her wit and ability to use humor during difficult situations. She was born June 28, 1945, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Rita Mae (Cadwallader) and Thomas Pascal Robart. She was preceded in death by her husband: Emmett Anderson “Andy” Freeman.
She is survived by a daughter: Thelma June “TJ” (Andy) Sampson of Imperial; a son: Marty (Kathy) Robart of Crestwood; and five grandchildren: John “Tyler” Sampson, Alexis Sampson, Rachel (fianace Nic Safron) Robart, Thomas Robart and Aimee Robart. She was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren: Moriah Grace Sampson and Zachary Thomas Sampson.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 12, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Burial is in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Herculaneum. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
