Marilyn K. Hottes, 76, of Festus, formerly of Rolla, died June 6, 2023, at her home. Ms. Hottes worked more than 20 years as an associate with Walmart. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. Born Oct. 30, 1946, in Hays, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Lillian M. (Glass) and Irl W. Arnold. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert E. Simons Jr.
She is survived by three daughters: Julie (Ron) Pumfrey of Festus, Jill (David) Wright of Arnold and Jodi Johnson of Festus; a sister: Mary Reynolds of Doolittle; and eight grandchildren: Rebecca Harrison of Colorado Springs, Colo., Olivia Pumfrey of Herculaneum, Amanda Harrison of St. Louis, Moira Wright of Arnold, Elizabeth “Liz” Harrison of St. Louis, Reece Johnson of Festus, Malaina Wright of Arnold and Paige Johnson of Festus.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the Anutt Cemetery in Anutt. Memorials may be made to the COPD Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
