John ‘The Jeweler’ Winkelmann, 70, of St. Clair died July 16, 2023, at his home. Mr. Winkelmann owned and operated Olde Towne Jewelers in Eureka for 27 years prior to his retirement. He was born June 23, 1953, in Richmond Heights.
He is survived by his wife: Donna M. (Gaal) Winkelmann; three children: Angela Winkelmann, Zachery (Jennifer) Winkelmann Sr. and Brett (Nikole) Winkelmann, plus Devin (Alysha) Dunham; six grandchildren: Peytan Winkelmann, Dakota Dunham, Skylar Dunham, Zachery Winkelmann II, Parker Winkelmann and Audrey Winkelmann; three siblings: Kay Kubasta, Richard (Lynn) Winkelmann and Mark (Janet) Winkelmann; six siblings-in-law: Mary Jo Winkelmann, Kathy Winkelmann, Bob Gaal, Margie (Dan) Crockwell, Cindy (Steve) Berry and Jim Gaal; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph B. Winkelmann Jr. and Gerald Winkelmann; and a brother-in-law: Joe Gaal.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home in Eureka.
