Janet Evelyn Meinhardt, 69, of St. Louis, formerly of Hillsboro, died Sept. 9, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Meinhardt was born Nov. 22, 1953, in Blackwell, the daughter of the late John Pratt and Nellie Evelyn (Mercer) Reynolds. She was the stepdaughter of the late Charles Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Dennis G. Meinhardt.
She is survived by five children: Carrie (Ed) Burkey of St. Louis, Megan (Dave) Williams of St. Louis, Connie (Mike) Courtney of Bonne Terre, Michael (Laura) Meinhardt of Brea, Calif., and Jennifer (Brandon) Freeman of Brea. Calif.; a sister: Beth Sultzer of Fredericktown; and 16 grandchildren: Edward Burkey III, Anna, Jack and Emma Burkey, Joseph Reese, Miles and Eleanor Williams, Ashton, Kenzi, Peighton and Keaton Courtney, Nathan and Nora Meinhardt, and Zachary, Jaxon and Peyton Freeman. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Iona, Steven and David Pratt.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at the funeral home. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
