Gregory Tyrone Young, 71, of Imperial died June 29, 2023, in Imperial. Mr. Young enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing, mushroom hunting, bowling, wiffleball, going out for breakfast, Cardinals baseball and Chiefs football, game shows, “Judge Judy,” scary movies, telling stories and dirty jokes and his orange 1941 Ford Coupe. Born Nov. 18, 1951, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Betty Jo and Robert Young.
He is survived by his wife: Deborah (Colaw) Young, whom he married Oct. 2, 2015, in Hillsboro; a daughter: Mary Jo Young; three stepchildren: Christine, Heath and Corey Estes; 11 grandchildren: Alexis (Collin) Modglin, Colten Young, Michael and Robbie Simmons, Domonick McEntire, Brandon Bailey, Logan Lynch and Payton, Raegen, Samantha and Bentlee Estes; and four great-grandchildren: Adriana, Amayah, Kesleigh and Harper.
He was preceded in death by two daughters: Angie Young and Lisa Young.
Memorial gathering will be held from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, July 2, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., Hillsboro, immediately followed by a memorial service. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
