Gerald F. Buechting, 69, of Imperial died June 5, 2023, in Imperial. Mr. Buechting was the owner of Buechting Drilling Co., which will continue to serve the community under the direction of his son. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Missouri Water Well Association and was a member of the Pastime Club in Imperial. He was born Sept. 2, 1953, in St. Louis, the son of the late Winifred (Darian) and Earl Buechting Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife: Jackie (Miller) Buechting.
He is survived by three children: Jennifer Mercer of Imperial, Jessica (Trey) Harris of Hillsboro and Jacob (Jessica Ackermann) Buechting of Imperial; a brother: Daryl (Linda) Buechting of Quincy, Ill.; seven grandchildren: Terry (Sarah), Bailey, Jolynne, Hadley, Isaiah, Sebastian and Jackson; special friends Tammy Benack and Gracie Pryor; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother: Earl Buechting Sr.
Visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial, officiated by Father Daniel Shaughnessy. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
