Gail Ann Wells, 79, St. Louis

Gail Ann Wells, 79, of St. Louis died May 1, 2023. Mrs. Wells graduated from Cleveland High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Harris Teachers College (now Harris-Stowe State University) in St. Louis. She completed a master’s degree in teaching from Webster College (now Webster University) in Webster Groves. She was a teacher for the Fox C-6 School District for 30 years, teaching elementary and junior high. She was a member and president of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, Beta Pi Chapter. She was a member of a book club, the Fenton Garden Club and the Denim Squares Dance Club. She volunteered at the Sappington House. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, shopping, and playing Bunco, cards and games, as well as spending time with family and friends. Born Oct. 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Bernice (Kunz) and James Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Ronald Wells.

She is survived by two children: Michael (Michele) Wells and Steven (Jennifer) Wells; four grandchildren: Logan, Megan, Ashton and Brayden Wells; and a sibling: John Patterson.

She was preceded in death by a sibling: Linda (Patterson) Murray.

Visitation will be from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Memorials may be made to the Senior Animal Rescue Second Chance Ranch in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
