Wilson “Dale” Staples, 80, of Farmington died Feb. 14, 2024, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing in Farmington. Mr. Staples was a deliveryman for Pevely Dairy/Schnucks where he received many truck driving safety awards. He was a member and usher of First Baptist Church in Arnold. He loved traveling, watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and was a St. Louis Rams Football season ticket holder. Born Aug. 19, 1943, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Bertha Lee (Wilson) and Lenord Staples Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife Thyrus P. “Abbey” (White) Staples.
He is survived by two daughters: Star Stout of Imperial and Beverly (Mike) Duncan of Farmington; three sons: Frank Abbey of Gray Summit, Randy (Bobbie) Conardy of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Ronald (Melinda) Conardy of Farmington; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter: Sandy English; a granddaughter: Jennifer Duncan; and an infant brother: Lenord Staples Jr.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Kenneth Qualls of First Baptist Church in Arnold. Burial to follow in Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery in Festus. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
