William Paul DeLaney, 68, of Festus died Aug. 9, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. DeLaney retired in 2014 as plant manager at the Ardagh Group in Milford, Mass., after a 41-year career in the glass industry, including time as a plant manager in Pevely. While living in Festus, he was a parishioner at the Our Lady Catholic Church. He was a lifelong golfer and loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Mizzou Tigers, from which his three children graduated. Born Jan. 4, 1956, in Elmira, N.Y., he was the son of the late Thomas B. and Sara (McCarthy) DeLaney.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Micki (Masters) DeLaney; three children: Elyse (Sam) Burditt of St. Louis, Emmett (Audrey Stein) DeLaney of Boston, Mass., and Kienan DeLaney of Kansas City; and four sisters and five brothers, all of upstate New York.

He was preceded in death by a son: Brandon Masters.

Visitation is scheduled from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 West Water St., in Elmira, N.Y. Prayer service is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin St., in Elmira, N.Y. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Catholic Charities High Street Food Pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of McInerny Funeral Home.
