
William Charles Moran, 74, of Festus died April 2, 2024. Mr. Moran was an employee at Costco. A lover of music, he was the owner of Trade A Tape in Boulder, Colo., until it closed. He was best known for top trader recordings of live concerts and traded recordings with people from around the world. He also played with and traveled the world with several top bands throughout his lifetime. He donated his entire music collection to UNC in Colorado for music lovers to enjoy. Born May 23, 1949, in Festus, he was the son of the late Catherine (Orr) Dolen and Charles Moran.
He is survived by four children: Richard (Angie) Moran of Festus, Jason Beers of Colorado, Amy (Mark) Beers-Ball of New Mexico and Heather Hamilton of Colorado; a sibling: Carole (Dick) Drew of Florida; eight grandchildren: Ramsey Moran and Calvin Moran, both of Festus, Kelbie Burdis-Beers, Bailey Beers of Colorado, Cailyn Beers and Silence Ball, both of New Mexico, Gabriel Hamilton and Corwin Hamilton, both of Colorado; and a great-grandchild: Amalia Burdis.
Mr. Moran chose to donate his body to science. A celebration of life in Colorado will be held at a later date and will include a concert featuring singer and guitarist Chris Duarte and many other musicians.
