William A. Skaggs, 83, of Pevely died April 25, 2024, at Mercy Hospice South – de Greeff Hospice House. Mr. Skaggs served in the U.S. Army, was a retired truck driver and a member of Mason and Shriner. Born June 17, 1940, in Steelville, he was the son of the late Hildred (Caringer) and Herman Skaggs.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Mary J. Skaggs of Pevely; a child: Debbie (Alan) Fessler of Imperial; three siblings: Geraldine Sellers of Davisville, Gary Skaggs of Cuba and Kathy (Mike) Reeves of High Ridge; two grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Kallie Fessler of Imperial; two sisters-in-law: Barbara Skaggs of St. Louis and Marge Skaggs of Wegen Core, Va.; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Leon Skaggs, Don Skaggs, Marvin Skaggs and Mary Skaggs.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at noon Thursday, May 16, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in South St. Louis County. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
