Minton, Wanda

Wanda L. Minton, 81, of House Springs died Oct. 25, 2024. Mrs. Minton dedicated 24 years to teaching at Maple Grove Elementary and was known for her warmth, patience and passion for learning. She was also known for her Christian values. Outside of the classroom, she shared her gift of music as a country and gospel singer. She loved solving crossword puzzles, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, faith and love. Born Feb. 4, 1943, in Newport, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Clarance and Carrie (Summer) Talley.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Everett Minton.

She is survived by two children: Everet A. (Kim) Minton and Liz Middelkamp; four grandchildren: Jordan (Cherrika) Minton, Willis (Lena) Minton, Kelsey Middelkamp and Brady Middelkamp; two great-grandchildren: Marcie Ann Minton and Elijah Everet Minton; three siblings: John Talley, Bill Talley and Pauline Wheaton; and many other family and friends.

She also was preceded in death by five siblings: Mary Elizabeth Talley, Homer Talley, Mckinley Talley, Roy Talley and Magadline Henson.

A memorial visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A graveside service will immediately follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
