Waltraud Ella Powers, 96, of De Soto died Dec. 2, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Powers was a homemaker. Born Sept. 8, 1928, in Chemnitz, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Arno and Ella (Haehnel) Kiessling.
She is survived by her husband: Lawrence E. Powers of De Soto.
She was preceded in death by three siblings: Siegfried Kiessling, Johanne Schramm and Herta Kiessling.
A memorial gathering was held Dec. 8 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by Terry Crank. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
