Virginia Lee Barton, 80, of Festus died Jan. 4, 2024. Mrs. Barton worked for Baldor Electric for more than 20 years and then went on to be head of housekeeping at a local hotel chain. She loved to eat, go the casino, play bingo, and, most importantly, spend time with her family and friends. Born July 24, 1943, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Grace Elizabeth (Jackson) and Olan Craig Seaton.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Joe L. Barton.
She is survived by a daughter: Robin (Rick) Stis of Festus; two sons: Billy (Pam) Eads of Festus and Joe Barton III of De Soto; a sister: Shirley (the late Robert Sr.) Stevens of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a son: John Barton; a sister: Juanita (the late Stanley) BeSand; and a brother-in-law: Robert Stevens Sr.
Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the AIDS Foundation of St. Louis, 5615 Pershing Ave., Suite 11, St. Louis, 63112. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
