Virginia “Jenny” Williams, 83, of Festus died May 13, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Williams was a retired forklift operator and factory worker for Foster Forbes in Pevely. She was a member of the Monday Card Club and a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Herculaneum/Pevely. Born Sept. 17, 1941, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Lois (Gordon) and Newton Johnson Becker.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Avard “Joe” Williams Sr.
She is survived by a son: Avard “Joey” (Donna) Williams Jr. of Imperial; three daughters: Paula Denise (the late Mark Ashe) Williams of Festus, Debbra Kay (Sam) Lalumandier of McKinney, Texas, and Karen Lynn (John) Elvert of Festus; 16 grandchildren: Nicholas Williams, Zachary (Jenny) Williams, Samantha Williams, Christina (Brad) Gravagna, Amie (Brad) Wooten, Melisa (Devon) Self, Sara (Cody) Fleming, Briley Thompson, Kristie (Keith Pinson) Waddell, Joshua Kent, Steven Lalumandier II, Andrew (Halie) Lalumandier, Cory Lalumandier, Abigail (Tim) Doty, Hannah Elvert and Logan Elvert; several great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Daniel Wayne Thompson; five brothers: Newton Junior Becker, Lilburn Lacey (the late Nadine) Becker, Gerald Ray “Gary” (the late Marilyn) Becker, Chester E. Becker and Russell (the late Geniva) Mattison; and two sisters: Frances (the late Homer) Boyer and Sharon Vasquez.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Jeff Purvis of First Baptist Church of Herculaneum/Pevely. Burial will be in the Herculaneum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
