Vernon M. Slatton, 68, of Pevely died Oct. 26, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Slatton worked as an industrial painter for Union Pacific Railroad until retirement. He enjoyed working in his yard and garage and visiting friends and family. He lived his life with Paula Allison, Linda Stowe, Gail Vanwinkel and Alan Giesing. Alan was his last partner.Born Feb. 24, 1956, in Huntington, Ore., he was the son of the late Rosella (Vernon) and Eugene Slatton.
He is survived by two children: Annalyn (Glenn) Anderson of Chubbuck, Idaho, and Nathan (Jody Pino) Slatton of Rio Rancho, N.M.; three grandchildren: Gene, Emmie and Ayda; and a sister: Sandra Clark of N.C.
He was preceded in death by a son: Brandon (Jenny) Slatton; and a grandchild: Mari.
Services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
