Theodore C. “Ted” Cage, 83, of Catawissa died July 17, 2025, at Crystal Oaks in Crystal City. Mr. Cage served in the U.S. Army and worked as an assembler for General Motors. After his retirement, he drove a bus for the Hillsboro R-3 School District for several years. Born Nov. 23, 1941, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Clifton Clyde and Muriel Leona (Montgomery) Cage.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Kathleen A. “Kathy” (Mudd) Cage.
He is survived by four children: Robynn (Trent) Madison of Brownsville, Ky., Jimmy Cage of Imperial, Regina (Jerry) Moore of Hillsboro and Renee (Roy) Kinsey of Catawissa; nine grandchildren: Crystal, Katie (Kyle), Jake, Tony (Amanda), Josh (Heaven), Elizabeth (Jonathan), Marissa (Chloe), Kyle (Lauren) and Katie (Jesse); eight great-grandchildren: Lily, Jace, Ava, Calvin, Meredith, Chapman, Beckham and Avery; and two siblings: Beverly Whitehead of Hillsboro and Yvonne Kent of Seattle, Wash.
He also was preceded in death by a sister: Sue Cage Nax.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Inurnment will be in Hillsboro Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
