Steve Bowen, 80, of Fenton died July 26, 2025, at his home. Mr. Bowen was happiest being around others. He could often be found with a Budweiser and a cigar in his garage bar, hunting camp with his boys, dinner out with friends or meeting new people on his travels. He loved spending time with friends and family. He was known for his flannel shirts, plain white tennis shoes, hot rods, biscuits and gravy and love of classic country music. He will be remembered as a warm, gentle, funny, uncomplicated man and as an optimist who shared his joy and humor with others. Mr. Bowen was born Sept. 18, 1944.
He is survived by his life partner: Robin; two sons: Steve (Julye) and David (Christine); three grandchildren: Matthew, Lauren and Stephanie; two great-granddaughters: Skylar and Chloe; and countless friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the HealthWell Foundation at healthwellfoundation.org.
