Stephen A. Klund, 76, of Festus died April 25, 2024, at the de Greeff Hospice House in south St. Louis County. Mr. Klund was the former owner/operator of Steve’s Carstar in Arnold. He loved taking care of his mini-farm, growing and cutting hay for their miniature donkeys, and his annual fishing trips to Canada. Born June 13, 1947, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Edith D. (Hallam) and Arthur M. Klund.
He is survived by his wife: Cheryl (Oldham) Klund; four daughters: Lori (Mark) Dunahee of Olympian Village, Sandy (Ted) Kottwitz of Hillsboro, Stephanie (Paul) Beck of Festus and Christine (Jason) Bigger of Arnold; a sister: Jackie Baumhauer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three brothers: Daniel Klund of Robertsville, Michael Klund of Greenville and Rob Klund of Pevely; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the Renaissance Rescue Ranch in Farmington. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
