Shirley “Jean” Haderlein, 87, of Cadet died Dec. 17, 2024, at Scenic Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Herculaneum. Mrs. Haderlein worked as a secretary at the Jefferson County Health Department. Born Oct. 19, 1937, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lessie (Gale) Dodd.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Earl Freeman; and her second husband: Elton Haderlein.
She is survived by two children: Mark (Monica) Freeman of Naples, Fla., and Nicole Smyers of Cadet; a sibling: Paul Dodd of Belgrade; three grandchildren: Courtney Krake, Robyn McKindley and Dustin Freeman; and two great-grandchildren: Penelope Krake and John McKindley.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Scott Freeman; six siblings: Doris Eulentrop, Dwain Dodd, Robert Dodd, James Dodd, Carolyn Jackson and Marcelyn Isgrig; and a grandchild: Emma Freeman.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today, Dec. 19, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for noon Friday, Dec. 20, at the funeral home, officiated by Rodney Dunlap. Burial will take place in De Soto City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 1215 Boyd St., De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
