Sharon Sue Deritis, 82, of Crystal City died March 5, 2025, at Stonebridge Senior Living in De Soto. Ms. Deritis was the city clerk for Crystal City for 35 years. After her retirement, she served as a librarian for the Crystal City Public Library for another 5 years. She enjoyed reading and loved her pets. Born June 4, 1942, at Scott Field, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Lenno Ona (Bennett) Burks and Vincent Gilbert Deritis.
She is survived by a son: Richard “Kris” (Cathy) Hart of Mesa, Ariz.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City at a later date. Memorials may be made to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
