Roper, Sandi

Sandi C. Roper, 74, of Festus died Aug. 29, 2024. Mrs. Roper was a gifted writer and worked as a journalist for most of her career. She also had several of her screenplays featured in community theater. Born June 14, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, she was the daughter of the late Lois Anita (Reed) and John Grady Corbitt.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles “Tom” Roper.

She is survived by a son: Daniel E. (Julia Grey) Lamson of St. Louis; a daughter: Juliana (Jeffrey) Chaney of Cedar Hill; a brother: Eric (Jeanice) Corbitt of Eudora, Kan., a sister: Kirsten (Pat) Ober of Montgomery, Texas; three granddaughters: Grace K. Chaney of Festus, Lisa Roper of Cape Girardeau and Sara Roper of Cape Girardeau; and numerous other family members and friends.

She also was preceded in death by a brother: John Corbitt.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Friday, Sept. 6, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus, officiated by Pastor Scott Parker. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
