Ruth Inez Bisch, 93, of Festus died Nov. 24, 2025, at Evelyn's House in St. Louis. Mrs. Bisch was known to many as Ms. Ruthie. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, keeping up with current events and advocating for education in the community. She was a member of the NAACP, Concerned Citizens, Concerned Parents Organization, Women’s Democratic Leaders group and the Missionary of the PAW Organization. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Festus. Born June 4, 1932, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late William H. Culton and Myrtle Inez (Bingham) Culton.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles L. Bisch.
She is survived by seven children: Dwayne (Norma) Bisch of De Soto, Gwendolyn Overstreet of Crystal City, Phillip (Josephine) Bisch of Decatur, Ill., Linda (Richard) Cayce of Kansas City, Jacqueline (John) Shores of Decatur, Ill., Tina Ruffin of Festus and Lola Bisch of Herculaneum; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by two sons: Bruce Bisch and Stephen Curtis Bisch; a daughter: Carolyn Ann Bisch; a son-in-law: William J. Overstreet Sr.; seven siblings: William F. Culton, Orville Culton Sr., Blondell Culton-Charleston, Ida A. Morris, Virgil T. Culton, Charles B. Culton and Franklin D. Culton, Sr.; and five grandchildren: Andre D. Overstreet, Nicole F. Overstreet, William J. Overstreet Jr., Aaron M. Bisch and Cierra L. Bisch.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Elder Charles B. Culton, Bishop Ron Luellen, Pastor Ryan Sutton and Pastor Donna Evans. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
