Roy Lynn Kennedy Sr., 82, of Bonne Terre died March 1, 2025, at his home. Mr. Kennedy was a resident in the Jefferson County Tri-City area for 52 years and in Bonne Terre for 30 years. He was a successful barber for more than 50 years and served in the Missouri National Guard. He was a member of Radiant Life Church in Festus and enjoyed riding motorcycles, going on road trips and, most of all, spending time with his wife and family. Born Nov. 27, 1942, in Festus, he was the son of the late Lora J. (Kanaday) and James A. Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Charlotte (Stotler) Kennedy; two daughters: Lynn (Darryl) Keeney and Wendy (Peter) Roth; a son: Roy Lynn (Jessica) Kennedy Jr.; a stepson: Glen Wayne (Sarah) Kesner; a stepdaughter: Shelly (Jim) Jarvis; a brother: David (Betty) Kennedy; siblings-in-law: Larry and Sheila Stotler; 10 grandchildren: Rachel, Darryl II, Tony, Dylan, Oriana, Elijah, Jeremiah, Hallie, Vanessa and Nicholas; and 13 great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Lexus, Arabella, Declan, Lathan, Owen, Hudson, Waylon, Weston, Aaliyahs, Asher, Alora and Kenneth.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: James A. (the late Barbara) Kennedy II and Terrance J. Kennedy; a sister: Jeanette (Donald survives) Caruthers; and a granddaughter: Chelsea.

A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, officiated by Pastor Randy Gray of Radiant Life Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
