Ronald Lee “Meatball” McKeen, 66, of Festus died March 16, 2024, at his home. Mr. McKeen was a member of Carpenters Union Local 2214 and was retired for 10 years after working for L.D. Compton Co. for many years. He was a member of the Plattin Boat Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, friends and his dog. Born Oct. 31, 1957, in Festus, he was the son of Norma (Bieser) McKeen of Festus and the late Calvin C. McKeen.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children: Kelli Herrell of St. Louis, Cassie (Mark) Firle of Bloomsdale and Cory (April) McKeen of Desloge; six grandchildren: Kylee Herrell, Jordyn Herrell, Jersey Herrell, Kasey Firle, Mark Firle and Peyton Walker; a close friend: Joyce Kertz; and his dog: Rockie.
He was preceded in death by his sister: Vickie Sue (Ralph of Festus) Brown.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
