Ronald Dean “Ronnie” Pearson, 75, of St. Louis, formerly of De Soto, died June 7, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Pearson was a machinist at Union Pacific Railroad and retired after 47 years. He loved spending time with his family, dancing with loved ones, fishing and helping others. He creatively found new projects and kept busy. He loved his dog, Beau. He cherished God and kept his friends and family very close. Born April 30, 1949, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Margaret (Carver) and Floyd Pearson.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Dianna (Leftridge) Pearson of St. Louis; two children: Ronda Pearson of St. Louis and Mark (Sarah) Pearson of De Soto; three grandchildren: Kyle (Lindsey) Burns of Herculaneum, Shaelyn (Dakota) Galczynski of St. Louis and Abigail Pearson of De Soto; three great-grandchildren: Jaxxon, Breelyn and Emersyn Burns; two siblings: Wanda Willhite of Indiana and Rick (Teresa) Pearson of Wildwood; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Glen, Kenneth, George, Danny and Gary Pearson; and a sister: Linda Blackwell.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Memorials may be made to ASPCA, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
