Roger Reed, 87, of Hillsboro died Sept. 23, 2025, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mr. Reed was a farmer and served in the Missouri National Guard. Born March 21, 1938, in Jefferson City, he was the son of the late Allen Edward and Myrtle May (Miller) Reed.
He is survived by four siblings: Marcella Luechtefeld of Glencoe, Mary Jane (Lloyd) Thebeau of Hillsboro, David (Janet) Reed of Hillsboro and Dr. Leslie (Mary Beth) Reed of Hillsboro; and two sisters-in-law: Liz Reed of South County and Linda Bauman Reed of Festus.
He was preceded in death by five sisters: Amelia “Dolly” Thomeczek, Helen Hayes Agnello, Dr. Martha Reed, Sarah Reed and Della Reed; five brothers: Don Reed, Eugene “Pete” Reed, Franklin “Frank” Reed, James Reed and Robert “Bob” Reed; two sisters-in-law: Patricia Reed and Waltraud “Trudy” Reed; and four brothers-in-law: Harold Luechtefeld, Norbert Thomeczek, George Hayes and Salvatore Agnello
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon, Saturday, Oct. 4, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in Bethel Cemetery in Labadie. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershed Funeral Home.
