Johnson, Robert

Robert Swift “Bob” Johnson, 83, of Festus died Sept. 18, 2025, at his home. Mr. Johnson was a professor of accounting and economics for more than 30 years at Jefferson College in Hillsboro. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City and he was a former member of the Tennessee National Guard. He also was a lifetime member and past president of the Festus/Crystal City Kiwanis Club and served as lieutenant governor and governor of the Kiwanis International Missouri/Arkansas District. Born July 22, 1942, in Greenwood, Miss., he was the son of the late Dorothy Sue (Swift) and Lewis Dilliard Johnson Sr.

He is survived by his wife: Andrea (Kraus) Johnson; two daughters: Jennifer Johnson (Christopher) Cano of New York, N.Y., and Kathryn Johnson (Taylor) Reiff of Bridgeton; a brother: Lewis D. (Gail Heckenberg) Johnson Jr. of Pevely; two grandsons: Vincent Reiff and Samuel Reiff; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister: Beth (the late Edward) Allen.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. until memorial services at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct.10, at First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City, 113 Grand Ave., in Festus, officiated by Rev. Tish Green. Memorials may be made to the Festus/Crystal City Kiwanis Club or the First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
